Disney's Newsies takes the Stage

PacRep Theatre is excited to present Disney’s Newsies the Musical by Harvey Fierstein, playing June 27th through July 28th at the Golden Bough Playhouse. Adapted from the Disney film, New York City's newsboys seize the day when they strike against unfair working conditions.

Inspired by the true story of the 1899 New York City’s Newsboys Strike, Jack Kelly and his team make a meager living selling newspapers, but when the paper prices are hiked the newsies are hung out to dry.

Can a group of idealistic kids win against the powerful newspaper giant of New York? Experience the Olivier and Tony-Award winning musical that's thrilled audiences on Broadway and across the country.

Under the direction of Susanne Burns, with musical direction by Michael Blackburn and choreography by Devin Adler, the production features Mikey Perdue, Lara Devlin, Andrew Macdonald, Malinda DeRouen Mueller, Stephen Poletti, and Andrew Mansour, accompanied by a cast of over 60 performers.

High-energy with non-stop thrills, the stage version includes 18 songs, featuring such well-known numbers such as "Carrying the Banner", "Seize the Day", "King of New York" and "Santa Fe".

Disney’s Newsies the Musical will begin performances with two discount previews, Thursday June 27th, and Friday June 28th, opening Saturday June 29th at 7:30 pm, with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday June 30th. Performances continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, with 2:00 pm Sunday matinees, closing July 28th, 2019. There will be no performance on Thursday the 4th of July.
